THE RUN RACING TEAM
PRESIDENT & CEO
Bob has served as CEO and Board Director of Run Racing since its founding in 2001. During that tenure he has directed the company’s growth from one event and 4500 participants to multiple events annually with over 55,000 participants. Bob is the winner of the Gold medal in the 1968 Olympics Games in Mexico City and the Silver medal in the 1972 Olympics in Munich for pole vaulting. He broke the indoor and outdoor world pole vault record 15 times during his illustrious international athletic career.
First and foremost I am a wife of 1 and mother of 5. If anybody told me 25 years ago, I would have 5 children and working for an event management company that puts on the Long Beach Marathon, I would have told them they were crazy. To think that I would be working at a place I absolutely loved going to everyday, seemed to be out of the question. But here I am, helping to put on some of the best running events in the world and working with some incredibly awesome people. I am not what you call a running enthusiast, but am trying hard to catch the “running bug.” If you see me at any of our events, please don’t hesitate to say hi and introduce yourself, I would love to meet you!
Gisele did not experience “runners high” until the final year of her undergraduate studies at California State University, Long Beach. She fell in love with the sport after her first half marathon in 2008 and began to consider a career in race management. She came on board as an intern with Run Racing in February, 2012 as part of her graduate studies in Sport Management. Interacting with the running community is her favorite part of the job, along with doing “research” by participating in a variety of race events.
